Nikki looked desperately at Kaitlyn, hoping for her to help her. Kaitlyn just shrugged her shoulders and smiled. Nikki began to tremble slightly as the girls pointed at her. Perhaps it would be okay. Perhaps Ms. Therma didn’t want to eat her. That’s why Kaitlyn didn’t care. She looked around at the barred windows and the heavy door and looked with trepidation as the clock ominously neared the end of the lesson. She clutched the bottom of her shirt as the bell rang and the girls filed up to leave and the boys ran for their lives. Nikki just hoped she had a better chance of living than they did.
