“Let’s play a game” Laetitia suggests in her thick French accent.
“Okay, sure.” You say, wanting to day anything to cure the boredom. “What are we playing?”
“Let’s do the one where we all throw cards and see who can get the most in.” She says.
“Geez, that game again?” You roll your eyes. Not only is this the only game you ever play in this boring house, you’re also ashamed to admit that you’re lousy at it. Far too many nights have been spent sitting throwing cards only to have Laetitia point at you and yell “You loser!” over and over again.
Nicole sits up a little bit. “We could make a bet and whoever loses does something for whoever wins.” You turn and look at her and she laughs and sticks her tongue out at you, knowing full well that you’re going to be the one that loses.
“Sure, whatever. I’m in.” You say.
“How about we play…” Laetitia says as she starts to giggle “and whoever wins gets to eat you?” she says now breaking out into full laughter. You sit stunned and a little alarmed at her directness.
“No.” Nicole says, although she too is a little giddy, throwing her arms around your neck. “I don’t want you to eat my Troy.”
“But if you win, you get to eat him!” Laetitia explains.
“Oh sweet! Let’s play then!” Nicole takes her arms back and sits up straight.
“Woah, woah, wait!” You stammer. “Are you seriously doing this?”
“Okay, you have no idea how boring this is.” Nicole says.
“Yeah, I’m sooo bored.” Laetitia moans.
“Don’t I have to agree to this or something?” you ask.
“Whatever.” Nicole says, “We could just play without you and then whoever wins would just eat you.”
“What the hell?” You exclaim, a little surprised to hear your roommates suddenly talking about you as a prize to be won and devoured. “What happens if I win?”
“Yeah, right” Laetitia laughs.
“Well, if you win then we won’t eat you. See? It’s fair.” Nicole says with a grin. You can’t believe they’re really serious about this. You’ve of course thought of the prospect of being eaten by both of them, sometimes even as a fantasy of yours in the past, but never imagined that this would be how it would happen. You’ve never even seen Nicole eat anybody before. Laetitia, on the other hand, you know what happens to guys that she eats. You’ve seen (and quite frankly, smelt) what they end up as. Are you going to be what clogs up the toilet tomorrow morning, you wonder, as you’re dealt your share of cards.
