You guys always play the game with 16 cards each and take turns throwing one card at a time. This time there’s a very nervous pause before the game begins as both girls look at you.
“You go first.” Laetitia says. You swallow nervously and throw your card at the hat. This is such a stupid game to decide your fate on, you think, as it sails through the air. It falls a good foot to the side of the hat. Not a good way to begin.
Nicole then throws her card, straight into the hat. She lets out a squealish giggle as it goes in and immediately the question pops into your head… who do you want to win if you end up losing?
You keep on throwing cards in turn, until, ultimately things don’t look too good for you.
