“Knock it off, you two!” Ashby’s petit blonde roommate Dee says as she barges in to the room. “We’re home.” Ashby springs up to greet her two roommates with hugs, like girls so often do.

“Hey girls.” Ashby says. “Troy and I were just hanging out.”

“Uh-huh” the other roommate asks. “Trying to play nice before the big game tomorrow.”

“Oh, that’s right!” Ashby exclaims. “I’m soooo excited.” She turns back and points at you. “You’re going down so hard!”

Tomorrow is the big day for football. Your favorite team and Ashby’s favorite team will be playing, the winner’s team gets to go to the championship game, the Super Bowl. Ashby and all of the people at school cheer for the local team, but since you’d grown up somewhere else, you cheer for a rival. Every time your two teams play there’s trash talking back and forth and this year the stakes are even higher.

“Is Troy coming to our party tomorrow?” Dee asks.

“I don’t know. Do you want to, Troy Troy?” Ashby asks, calling you by a strange pet name she’s had for you for a while. “It’s just going to be girls, but maybe you’d like that.”
