You seize up as you feel Emily’s grasp from behind, her arms wrapping around you, putting you in a full on hug from behind. You relax and sink in to her arms a little bit as she reads aloud the list of ingredients.

“Emily’s Famous Dessert.” She reads. “Six eggs, one quart of milk, two cups of sugar, 150 pounds of Troy.” You chuckle as she squeezes you.

“Very funny.” You say, “What’s the next step?”

“Mix eggs, milk and sugar in an extra large bowl.” She reads, not laughing at her earlier joke. “Restrain Troy and swallow. Dish may take some time to prepare.”

“What?” You exclaim.

“I’d better do what it says.” She squeezes again, this time lifting you off your feet. “We want for it to turn out just right.”

“I thought we were…” You begin, not able to finish your sentence as her lifting takes the wind out of you.

“I’m making you dessert.” She says. “Just like you wanted.” No sooner does she finish the sentence than does she start to wrap her lips around your forehead for the second time tonight. This time, though, it doesn’t seem like she’s joking.
