“Haaa, Kaagaamaaa,” Konata said with a mouth full of teenage girl head. Ayano tried desperately to push Konata off as she paused from eating her, but Konata wrapped her small, chubby arms around the girl and held her close, preventing her from getting away. Konata licked her face again, sending another muffled cry echoing from inside her body. Kagami moved forward to stop her friend and save her kinda-friend/classmate. But then Miyuki and Tsukasa stepped in front of her.

“Wait sis! You can’t stop Konata!” Kagami tried to move around her sister, but Tsukasa moved with her, keeping her arms wide open to catch her older sister if she tried to run. Miyuki did the same, although she seemed a little more reluctant to restrain her friend. It had nothing to do with any doubts about what Konata was doing, but just that she hated the thought of grabbing her friend. Even when she was helping someone devour an innocent person she was trying to be sweet.

“Why the Hell not? She’s going to eat Ayano!” Kagami gestured to Konata who was still licking and sucking on her meal’s head. She was watching Kagami as she ate, confused why her friend was trying to stop her. She wanted to speak up, but she might choke on Ayano if she tried and you don’t want to get a teenage girl stuck in your throat no matter what the reason.

Tsukasa couldn’t understand why her sister was getting in the way too. She knew her sister sometimes was a little too mature and serious, but couldn’t she see what was right in front of her? Kagami tried again to push past her and Tsukasa finally had enough. For the first time in her life, Tsukasa raised her voice to her sister. “You can’t stop her because she’s enjoying it!”

Kagami momentarily paused, giving Tsukasa an opening to grab her sister. She wrapped her arms around the older twin, not to restrain her, but to hold her close as she explained why stopping Konata now would be the wrong thing to do. “Can’t you see that Konata is enjoying this? She’s been practically glowing ever since she closed her mouth over Ayano’s head. I’ve never seen her look so happy. Just look at her face and you’ll see.”

Not sure what her sister was talking about, Kagami did as she was told and gasped when she finally saw what her sister meant. She had missed it because all she could notice was Konata’s wide mouth wrapped around Ayano’s neck, but it was so obvious to her now. Konata’s eyes were wide open.

For a normal person, opening your eyes call the way was natural, but for all the years Kagami had known her sly, playful friend, her eyes had remained partially closed. Now that Konata had tasted her first person, her eyes were open all the way, sparkling with a elation that Kagami had never seen before. Her friend was experiencing something special. Something better then playing video games or watching anime, the two things that Kagami had until now thought all Konata could care about.

“Konata is happy and as her friends we should be happy for her,” Miyuki calmly explained, rationalizing why what was happening wasn’t only good, it was fantastic. “This might have started as Konata trying to prove something, but it’s turned into something wonderful. Konata has become a predator and in nature we would have no right to stop her and as her friends we need to support her. You do care about Konata don’t you?”

“I…I…Do,” Kagami said in defeat. How could she take away Konata’s joy, even to save someone? As good friends they all wanted the other to find happiness, no matter what it meant. Ayano was just a casualty of Konata’s happiness, one that Kagami had to admit she wouldn’t miss to much. Standing beside her two other friends, she watched her chubbiest friend with warm, compassionate eyes. Let Konata be happy.

Blushing as she saw how caring her friends were, Konata truly felt lucky to have such wonderful people that would let her eat someone just because she wanted to. Taking her first gulp, Konata pulled a squirming, screaming Ayano into her throat. Hopefully, her friends might find her big meal a little entertaining.
