Both cubs froze when they saw themselves staring up at a trio of hyenas. "Oh look Banzai," the female said "looks like we got us some snacks, tasty ones."

The last two words brought Simba out of his shock, and he shouted "run," before darting off.

Nala tried to follow Simba but with her weight she was no match for the hyenas. "Simba," she called desperately, "Sim-aaah!"

Simba stopped when he heard Nala's scream, but was so frightened that for a few moments he couldn't decide what to do.
