"...can't go on." After a few moments, repeated, "I can't go on like this." He was almost in tears, though they wouldn't help him.

He didn't get round to further bemoaning though, because at that moment, Nala called, "Epesi, dinner."

Epesi struggled for a moment, he didn't really want to eat anything more, but his stomach contradicted and overrode this idea, and so, full of self-loathing, the cheetah cub made his way over to the feeding area, too wrapped up in his own sorrow to catch Nala giving him some of her meat.

After the meal, as per usual, Epesi tried to work off his dinner, but as per usual he failed, his weight and torpidity forcing him to quickly give up and sleep.
