On waking, Nala found herself, not still stuck in a hole, but in a cage barely a few lengths to a side. Looking out, she saw she was in a cave of some sort, but with no entrance.

After a while, Henry came in carrying Nala's meal. The cub wasn't much good at judging human expressions, but she didn't need to, because he said, "the lady was not happy with you trying to escape, so you will be in there for a few days until your enclosure had been modified."

Modified, Nala wondered, how were they going to modify it. She didn't wonder for long though, as the aroma of the meat quickly fired her hunger, and putting all other thoughts out of her mind. And nor could she think of much afterwards, as her huge meal made her sleepy.

During her few days in the cage Nala put on even more weight than she would have in the enclosure for the simple reason that the cage was too small to allow much exercise, so the cub mostly slept, an issue helped by the fairly dim lighting.

Eventually Nala was released back into the enclosure, but when she wen't to the boundary she saw how they'd modified it, they'd placed some sort of stone boundary under the fence, so she'd never manage to dig under it, or at least not be able to dig fast enough the keep up with her increasing girth.
