Nala tried her best to diet like her parents wanted; she really did. But the lack of food made her cranky, and her parents weren't budging an inch on the whole weight loss thing. After about a week of near starvation, Nala decided that she couldn't take it any more. Her parents were keeping a close eye on her, to make sure she didn't sneak any food and ruin her diet, but that day, Sarafina was out hunting with the other lionesses, so Nala played the good little cub for her father, until he dozed off to sleep. That was her chance. As quietly as she could, Nala bolted out of her parents' den.

They wanted to see less of her bulk? Fine. They'd never have to look at it again.
