It was no better than feeding herself. She sucked desperately on the end of the snake, trying to make the meat come faster, but it didn't.

On the other side of the glass, the scientists noticed that their subject was having trouble with the feeding tube. At first, they assumed that she didn't like how it felt, but after one of them noticed the increased pressure on the tube, they realized the truth. Since they couldn't very well alter the thing while the female cub was using it, they piped sleeping gas into her room.

When Nala awoke, she found, much to her displeasure, that the gray snake was still in her mouth. Just like before, it filled her mouth with meat, but too slowly to be of any real use. Having nothing else that she could do, since the room was otherwise empty and it wasn't as though she could just get up and leave, she started sucking on it again. To her surprise, the flow seemed to increase marginally. She swallowed the new mouthful of meat and sucked harder, and her mouth filled up slightly quicker. She kept it up until the meat was coming as fast as she could swallow.

And then, on a whim, she sucked even harder. Now, the force of the flow itself was pushing meat down her throat, without her having to do anything. Once she overcame her gag reflex (which wasn't too hard, since her body was used to absurd quantities of food), she was free to enjoy the sensation of being stuffed without even having to go to the minimal effort of chewing and swallowing.

God, but she'd missed the feeling of being stuffed tight. This weird snake was finally allowing her to satiate her monstrous hunger again. She had no way of knowing how much she was consuming, but it was obviously going down faster than if she'd been eating normally.
