Nala was darn right that she couldn't make decisions for Kiara! The cub couldn't believe how much of a fuss her mother was making over her weight. She'd never have to hunt for herself, so what did it matter if she was heavier than the other young lions? Kiara had always eaten for the sheer pleasure of it, but now she vowed to gain weight on purpose, just to annoy Nala.

The problem would be getting food. There was no way her tyrannical mother was going to let her eat enough to really gain; her only recourse was to make her way back to Sarafina's den. Unfortunately, she'd been having a really hard time moving lately. Oh, she could make it to her grandmother's eventually, but it would take quite a long time.

Still, anything, even physical exertion, was better than letting Nala control her life, so inch by inch, Kiara started making her arduous way over to her grandomther's den.
