Nala was going to just push the whole big pile out of the den and invite whoever wanted some to take it, but gathering it had been hard work, and she didn't relish the thought of having to push the whole danged pile around any more. Therefore, she decided that the most sensible thing to do would be to eat it all herself. She justified the huge meal with the excuse that after this, she would be able to diet and there wouldn't be any more food in the den.

She started with a giraffe, since they were the heaviest and thus the biggest pain to move again. After the first one, she was feeling a little full, but she pressed on. After the second, she was starting to feel sick, and there were still tons of meat left. Her mammoth stomach was bloated to the point where it had almost no jiggle to it. The last time Nala could remember having a tight stomach was back when she was still thin.
