Naruto was nervous. Anko had enjoyed his reaction when she told him the Hokage was the woman who's shoes he had to replace. How could she not notice? And then what would he say? Plus, he still thought of her as Baa-chan, and the idea of being her shoes was intolerable. He had wanted to be a Hokage, now he would be a Hokage's footwear.

He knocked on her office door. He knew he had no chance of taking her shoes and taking their place while she was at home. The ANBU would get him immediatly. He had only one chance, the one time even the ANBU left her alone: when she was drunk. He would have to find a way to stay in her office until she was plastered, which she became most every day. Past that, she was an important woman, she didn't pay attention to trivial matters such as what she wore under her feet.

"Yeah, come in." Tsunade hollered. Naruto braced himself, he had been missing all this time.

"NARUTO?!?!? WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN????!?" Tsunade yelled. "Oh, you're in trouble now, kid." Naruto looked towards the second voice. To his horror, Anko was there, clearly chatting with Tsunade.

Naruto bowed his head and took Tsunades blows and verbal abuse. He was more polite to her than he had ever been, and this calmed and perplexed Tsunade.

"Well Naruto, you've certainly learned your manners."
"Thank you, Tsunade-sama."
"Sama! Anko are you hearing this?"

The two had a laugh. Tsunade lazily slouched in her chair. Naruto was acting like he had no more spine. Time to see how far she could push it.
"Hmmm....I guess I could forgive you. But I'm going to have to assign you to D-Rank missions for the next few months. And I'm going to keep your pay, I need more Sake money.

To Tsunade's delight and shock, Naruto just stared at the ground and said "Hai, Tsunade-sama."
Tsunade laughed. "Now this is how you treat your superior!
