Naruto awoke to the sound of knocking on his door. He really didn't feel like getting out of his comfy bed so he rolled over and closed his eyes. Whoever it was could come back in the morning. Naruto groaned as the knock became louder and more frantic.

"God damnit..." Naruto mumbled. He got out of bed and threw on a tank top and walked to his door. He opened the door opening his mouth to tell whoever the inconsiderate jackass who was interrupting his sleep to come back in the morning. However his words caught in his mouth and his eyes widened in surprise at the sight of who was on his doorstep.

"Hi..." Sakura said quietly.

Naruto's surprise quickly turned into anger and distrust.

"No." Naruto said coldly before slamming the door shut in his face.

"I didn't even ask you anything..." Sakura's surprised voice noted from the other side of his now closed door.

"You don't need to. My answer is no to any question you ask."

"What? But Naruto..." A cold fear seeped through Sakura's body. She could always count on Naruto, no matter what was happening he was always there for her when she needed him...

"I should thank you Sakura, you taught me a very important lesson yesterday." Sakura still couldn't get over how cold Naruto's voice.

"Oh? And what did I teach you?" Sakura asked quietly. She wasn't sure she wanted to hear the answer. Not today, not after everything that had happened.

"I learned yesterday that my heart is foolish, and more importantly that I shouldn't trust anyone. Being a jinchuriki, it's a lesson I should've already known, but I stupidly allowed myself to think I could actually have friends... as if." Naruto snorted.

"Naruto I need you right now...please...today has been so awful." Sakura begged. "I lost four patients today....four. The only thing that kept me going was the knowledge that I had you to play with when I got home... then I came home, got in an argument with my mom and moved out. Please Naruto...I need you right now..."

Naruto's heart clenched. He was extremely pissed at Sakura for what she did to him...but he still cared about her, and he knew how hard she took it whenever she lost a patient...he couldn't imagine how hard she would take losing four in one shift. He opened his door when Kaori's warning rang through his mind. Sakura had proved that she no longer deserved his trust.

This could all be another scheme of hers to lure her into a trap. He saw her tired and depressed light up as he opened the door. She genuinely looked terrible and and her eyes were red and puffy. But she also genuinely looked like she wanted to go on a date with him.
