Her mother couldn't do this! And just as she expected, Naruto was going to go along with the plan. Looks like he wasn't as devoted as she...
"No." Sakura heard Naruto's call out firmly.
"Excuse me?" Sakura's mom gasped. And Sakura found herself seconding that question.
"I said no. Sakura chose to enslave me, and she is choosing to keep forever by marrying me. And she chose that because this is what she wants. She hates me. She wants me to be miserable. She wouldn't have chosen to go this route if it wasn't the route that would make her happiest. I will gladly give my life to her if just to make her smile one time that she would not have." Naruto's voice strongly replied.
Ironically enough, a small smile had found its way onto Sakura's face as she listened to Naruto's refusal. Of course she reasoned the smile was because she was happy to have her slave wrapped so tightly around her middle finger. She peaked into the room so she could watch.
"That's stupid! Naruto, I'm offering you a chance at happiness, and you're turning it down to live a life that you're not even sure you can survive?"
"Yes. Thank you for the offer Haruno-san, but as your daughter has said multiple times, I will always be beneath her feet."
"See Mom?" Sakura crowed with a triumphant smile as she entered the room. "He wants to be my dog."
"You heard all that?" Kaori quietly asked.
"Yep. Good dog Naruto." Sakura complimented with a mocking smile towards her slave.
"There really is no hope for you then..." Kaori sadly sighed. "If you heard all that, and are still acting like this, you will never change. Sakura, I'm not giving my acceptance for you and Naruto's marriage. This way, he'll have to go and marry that priestess where he can be far away from you, and can live a happy life like he deserves."
"WHAT?!" Sakura roared. "You can't do that! You heard him! Being my slave is his choice!"
"I don't care what his choice is. I'm going to do what's best for this poor boy."
"WELL WHAT..."
"Enough!" Naruto interrupted with a powerful yell filled with strength. "Haruno-san, I appreciate your concern for my well being more than you will ever know... but this is my choice. I will always choose Sakura's happiness over my own. I don't really care what happens to me, just as long as Sakura is a little happier."
"You may be unwilling to look out for your own happiness, but I'm going to do it for you anyways." Kaori countered.
"Then I will refuse to go. I will become a traitor to Konoha, and allow myself to get captured so I could die the disgraceful death of the traitor. I will tarnish my legacy, Jiraiya's legacy and even my father's legacy in the process... but I don't care. I promise you that will be what I do if you deny my and Sakura's marriage."
Sakura and Kaori just stared at Naruto with dumbfounded looks on their faces. How could someone be that devoted?
"Fine." Kaori humphed. "As soon as you finish packing your stuff, leave and never return."
Sakura's eyes widened. "What?"
"I don't want to see you ever again. I am ashamed that I have to call you my daughter..."
"Stop." Naruto softly interrupted. "In the time that Sakura pretended to be my friend, one of the many things I learned about her was that she was very close to you. Just because she treats me like this doesn't mean she's not the incredible daughter you raised. I would sooner die than cause Sakura to be estranged from you."
To prove his point, Naruto summoned a rasengan and held it near his head. Naruto didn't flinch in the slightest, even though their was a deadly ball of whirling chakra that could blow his head off if it connected.
"Stop!" Sakura yelled with a panicked look in her eyes. "Don't go killing yourself over something so stupid idiot!"
"Promise me you will still love your daughter." Naruto said, unphased by Sakura's command.
"Put that thing away! Sakura you're welcome here anytime!" Kaori yelled. Satisfied, Naruto let his rasengan dissipate, got on all fours and knelt in front of Sakura, awaiting her command.
Sakura was a little freaked out as she stared down at Naruto... if he would've moved that rasengan an inch he would've been dead!
"Th-thank you Mom." Sakura stammered as her heart beat slowly returned to normal. With Naruto still kneeling in front of her, Sakura leaned down and shakily patted his head.
"Let's start packing." She ordered softly.
It only caused took them ten minutes to get all of Sakura's things sealed into scrolls.
"Well come over soon so we can start planning your wedding, ok Sakura?"
"Sure Mom." Sakura smiled. "Let's go Naruto. I want to drop everything off at home." Sakura started walking in the direction of Naruto's apartment. She glanced behind her to see Naruto crawling after he, and slowed down so he could catch up.
Sakura rested her hand on Naruto's head and started lightly massaging his scalp as she used her chakra to protect her dog's palms and knees.
"Naruto?"
"Yes Mistress?"
"Don't ever... don't ever so that again, k?"
"Do what?"
"I don't want you to ever come that close to killing yourself for me again? A master would never be happy if her dog commits suicide."
Naruto remained silent, because he couldn't agree to that. His life had fallen to shambles, it didn't hold much value in it anymore. If throwing it away would make Sakura even a little happy, then he would in a heart beat.
Sakura was a little perturbed by Naruto's lack of reply, but decided to let it go this time.
"And Naruto?"
"Yes Mistress?"
"Just because you're a worthless dog who belongs beneath my feet doesn't mean I hate you. I don't. "
Again Naruto didn't reply. But this time, it was because he didn't know what to say. Where will this story go next? Your choices are below...
