It wasn’t easy but Ino finally managed to get to speak to Shizune alone.
“Shizune I have something to show you.” Ino said.
Shizune looked curiously at Ino. “What is it?” she asked.
Ino brought her insoles to Shizune’s face smiling proudly.
Shizune gave her a confused look.
“They look awfully comfortable Ino but why are you showing them to me?”
Ino grinned. “Let’s just say there’s more to these insoles than meets the eye. By the way have you seen Naruto lately?”
Shizune shook her head. “I haven’t seen him all day…but he’s always getting himself into trouble. I’m sure he’ll turn up eventually”
Ino giggled. “What if I told you he was right in front of you?” She said smiling as she pointed to the insoles.
Shizune looked at the insoles suddenly realizing what Ino was getting at.
“No way!!!” She said gathering her chakra to scan the object in front of her. She opened her eyes in shock “Oh my god!!! It is Naruto!!!”
“Shhh!” Ino whispered. She looked around the party. Fortunately Shizune’s outburst didn’t attract any unnecessary attention. Everyone at the party was still having a good time.
“Why would you do that to him?!!!” Shizune said angrily “He’s your comrade.”
“I caught him trying to peek on me while I was trying to take a bath” Ino lied. “I thought he needed to be punished a little.”
“Oh!” Shizune said calming down. She definitely could understand where Ino was coming from. “I guess being Jiraya’s student has rubbed off some bad qualities on him.”
“I punished him quite a bit wearing him on the way over here” Ino confided in Shizune. “But I don’t think he’s learned his lesson yet. Do you think you can help me punish him?”

Shizune considered for a second. She loved Naruto like a little brother and couldn’t help feeling sorry for him but at the same time she felt responsible for the ninja and felt it was her job to discipline him.
