For a while Ino decided to leave her sandals (and her custom insoles) outside to air out. As he was left alone, Naruto quickly began to miss Ino’s feet very much. As a pair of insoles, Ino’s feet were Naruto’s entire world. He saw them, tasted them, smelled them, and provided them with comfort. When they were missing, Naruto couldn’t help feeling empty inside and useless. Naruto also began to realize how warm Ino’s feet were as the cold air brushed against him. The night air was chilly and he wished Ino’s soles were there to warm him up now. While it was a form of torture being insoles under Ino’s feet, it was far worse being without them and Naruto prayed that Ino’s feet would come keep him company again soon.

After about an hour, Ino came back out and lifted up her sandals. She took her special insoles out of her footwear and placed them on the ground. Gathering her chakra, she released her jitsu. Naruto was transformed back into a human and his clone disappeared. Naruto’s body convulsed a bit and his head felt a little dizzy as he felt the after-effects of the transformation. Ino knelt beside Naruto placing his head in her lap and began gently caressing his face.
“Easy Naruto” She said as he tried sit up. “The after-affects of this transformation are, pardon the pun, a kick and a half.”
Naruto groaned.
“Don’t worry the dizziness should wear off soon,” Ino told him.
Sure enough Ino was right. After 5 minutes, the dizziness wore off and Naruto stopped shaking. He sat up and looked at Ino warmly.
“Feeling better?” Ino asked.
“Much!!” Naruto said.
“Good,” Ino said. “How was it being my insoles?”
Naruto thought about it.
“In some ways it was very nice. I liked having your soles constantly pressed up against me and trampling me, I also liked experiencing the sight, smell and taste of your foot as an insole.” Naruto said. He looked at Ino “By the way how did I feel? Was I comfortable for you?”
Ino smiled.
“You were the best insoles I ever had.” She said giving him a kiss on the cheek.
“I’m glad.” Naruto said. He continued describing his experience for Ino. “Some parts were like a nightmare for me though. I hated when you left me alone outside. I really missed your feet.”
Ino nodded understandingly.
“Well…I actually was planning to leave you outside for the entire night” Ino told him. “I wanted you to get the sense that being my insole meant long periods of being left alone with nothing to do, but I couldn’t go through with it.”
“Why not?” Naruto asked. He was definitely happy Ino didn’t leave him alone for that long, but he wanted to know why.
“I guess you could say I missed you as well” Ino confessed. “It just wasn’t any fun without you…that’s why I had to let you go after an hour.”
Naruto smiled touched that Ino felt the same way he felt. He felt a tremendous amount of affection for Ino but there was still one gripe about his insole experience that he needed to tell her about.
“I still have to ask though...what was with eating my favorite dish of ramen in front of me?!!!” Naruto said doing his best to make an upset face. “That was just mean.”
Ino giggled as she thought about what she put the poor Ninja through.
“I’m sorry Naruto, I couldn't help it.” Ino chuckled. “You’re just too fun to tease.”
Ino got up and began walking out of her living room.
Don’t feel too bad though.” Ino said gesturing for Naruto to follow her. “Come with me…I have a surprise for you in the kitchen.”
Naruto got up and followed her. On the table inside the kitchen was a paper bag which Ino opened for Naruto. Naruto mouth dropped open as he saw a container of his favorite ramen dish in front of him. Apparently Ino had ordered another batch of his favorite dish to go.
“Wha? How?” Naruto asked. “I didn’t hear you order it.”
“It wasn’t easy keeping you in the dark.” Ino chuckled. “I signaled to the owner I wanted a batch to go and he prepared it for me.”
Naruto looked happily at the meal. Suddenly he got suspicious.
“You’re not planning to eat it in front of me again” Naruto asked cringing at the thought.
You don’t really think I’d be that cruel do you?” Ino said laughing. “No this batch is for you.”
Naruto was thrilled. He quickly hugged Ino tightly. Ino smiled and hugged him back. Although she liked teasing him, nothing beat the feeling she felt making him happy. For a while they kept that embrace. Finally they let go of each other.
“Let me warm the ramen up for you.” Ino told him before giving him a mischievous smile before adding. “You can play with my sandals while you’re waiting.”
Naruto smiled and went into Ino’s living room to get her sandals. Ino giggled as she heard loud sniffing sounds while she prepared the soup.
Finally when the ramen was ready, Ino gave it to Naruto. Naruto hungrily ate it. After he was finished, he looked at Ino and smiled.
“Thanks” He said appreciatively.
“Sure!” Ino said.
Naruto looked at Ino wondering what would happen next. Ino smiled and asked him the question he wanted to hear.
“Now that you finished eating, are you ready to continue being my footslave?” Ino asked.
Naruto nodded enthusiastically.
Ino smiled.
