"I dunno if I can eat all of these..." Shuichi picked up his fork and knife but made no further move to cut a piece of pancake off.

Yuki lit up a cigarette as he spoke. "What? Of course you can, you didn't get as fat as you are now from not eating."

Shuichi felt his cheeks burn with shame as he moved the plate Yuki had given him closer. "I guess you're right..."

"Of course I am, eat up before they get cold." Yuki busied himself with the newspaper while Shuichi reluctantly started on the pile of pancakes. It wasn't that he wasn't hungry at all, he was just intimidated by the amount of pancakes in the room. And pancakes were so filling! He didn't want to think about the pain his stomach would be in later.

It took him longer than Yuki would have liked, but Shuichi finished off his first stack of pancakes and poured himself a drink before looking to the other few piles.
