“Why don’t I use my bare feet to break you” Mai said. “I’m really a hands on type of girl.”
Mai slowly brought her feet down to Naruto’s face and began rubbing them around while Naruto gagged on the smell. While the weapon girl’s feet were soft (probably from soaking in sweat all day) the smell was unbearable for Naruto and tears began streaming down his face in less than five minutes.
Mai noticed but she didn’t stop. She was extremely lonely and bored after her boyfriend Zuko abandoned her to join up with the avatar. It was true that she still had Azula and Ty Lee but they were the kind of friends she could only handle in small doses. The yellow-haired boy looked like he might be entertaining company in Zuko’s absence.
As Mai thought of Zuko, she felt anger fill her. He didn’t even bother to say goodbye in person. He just left her a note. She thought she meant something to him. You’d think he tell her he was going to do something big like confront her father. Guess he didn’t care for her as much as she cared about him. It bothered her how much she changed when she was with Zuko. She had begun to expose her feelings to him which was something she didn’t do to just anyone and she had listened to him responding to his problems the way a caring girlfriend would. What upset her the most was that she still had feelings for Zuko…eventhough he had chosen to leave her…she still loved him.
She began to take out her anger on Naruto kicking and pressing her feet against his face and nose trying to rub whatever sweat and dirt remained on her feet into him. Naruto groaned and whimpered throughout the process.
For Naruto the torture was definitely an awful experience. But what made it worse was that he was unable to read this girl as she tortured him. Mai kept her emotions guarded and Naruto had trouble telling if she felt happy, angry, sad, or indifferent doing this to him. He knew he shouldn’t care about how his enemy felt but they was something about this girl’s expressionless face that bothered him.
“Are you ready to give up yet?” Mai asked him pressing her feet hard against his face. “If you give up now…I’ll definitely stop”
Definitely not wanting to give the watching Azula the satisfaction of hearing him submit, Naruto refused.
Sighing, Mai continued his torture.
“Why do guys always have be so stubborn?” She asked annoyed. “Always so hesitant to let a girl know their feelings even if all they wanted to do was help!”
She pinched Naruto’s mouth open and picked up her boot and poured the large amount of footsweat inside of it down the ninja’s throat.
As Naruto choked on the salty taste of Mai’s feet, he realized what it was that bothered him about Mai’s expression. It was an expression he had seen frequently in Sasuke, Gaara and even sometimes in himself. It was the cold dead look of loneliness…she had lost someone close to her and she was hurting inside from it.
Naruto didn’t get the chance to dwell on his discovery as Mai continued to torture him. She gave him a second helping of footsweat from her other boot and proceeded to use the smell of her feet and her boots to put him through hell.
By the time his hour with Mai was up, Naruto was constantly sobbing. Azula and Ty Lee came in and informed Mai her time was up. They wondered whether Mai had done enough to break the ninja.
“So “airbender” are you ready to talk yet?” Azula asked. “Or does the torture continue with a fresh set of feet?”
Naruto didn’t know how much more torture he could take. Maybe he should just submit now and spend some time alone with Mai. At least he would be with a kindred spirit who shared his loneliness.
