She was warm.
Never in her life had she ever felt so comfortable while sleeping. She found that she
couldn't wake up. For some reason, she felt completely safe and secure, and she'd give anything to get a few more nights like this one. She sighed and snuggled deeper into the eerily soothing pillow. Perhaps it wasn't so bad to let herself relax every now and then. She hadn't realized exactly how good it felt to get a full night of imperturbable sleep, and no matter what it took, she'd get one of these pillows for herself. They were damn cozy. A sudden flash of light interrupted her from her ceaseless rest. She hadn't heard anything about a thunderstorm, and the lightning was quickly annoying her. Mai shut her eyes tighter to block out the sporadic sparks, digging her face deeper into the soft cotton of the pillowcase. She wasn't quite ready to wake up yet, and she'd do everything in her power to hang on to those last few minutes of precious sleep. The unmistakable sound of muffled giggling reached her ears, and she immediately snapped her eyes open and hopped up onto her knees. She blinked a few times to gain her bearings, her vision eventually becoming clear enough to see both Ty Lee and Azula looking down at her with devilish grins on their faces. The room was imperceptibly dark, signifying that it was early morning at best, and thin rays of light streamed in through the open window.
"What's going on?!" Mai spat, her luxurious sleep immediately forgotten. Their grins only widened, and both girls simultaneously pointed at something to her left. She glared at them for another few seconds before skeptically turning her head. To her amazement, Naruto was wantonly lying on the bed next to her, a miniscule amount of drool seeping out of the open corner of his mouth. Her own mouth opened in horror as she realized that the pillow she'd been snuggling up against all night was her new friend. At least they were still wearing they're clothes, that would have been a nightmare otherwise.
Azula couldn't resist. "Mai...I see you and the airbender were getting friendly!"
Mai's face tured red with furry. Ty Lee looked at Mai. Her aura wasn't dingy, pasty and gray anymore, something about this boy had changed her for the better. She'd have to ask Mai about it...
A knife missed her ear by inches, good thing Mai was too mad to aim straght
...assuming the girl in question didn't kill them first!
