Chapter 31: Browse the Oceanet/ More on Oceania-Talk   (ID #1067131)
an addition by: Komputer  More by this author

"It just keep getting better", you thought. First there's Nakii the blue whale, then later you'll be meeting the most famous killer whale in the world. You are so eager to meet Shamu because since you first met her at the marine park a year ago, you're secretly in love with her. And now, you found out that Shamu has just as many secrets as Nakii do (which you hope includes a 'human' representation of herself).

You check out more of Nakii's friends on the Oceania-Talk but only a few of them are on the chat system:
- Dolphins: 17 friends Flipper is on (1 of 20)
- Whales: 22 friends Shamu and Willy are on (2 of 30)

The rest of Nakii's friends are either not "online" or are 'busy' swimming or their various business.

Somewhere at the center of the Oceania-Talk, you also see a chat-room icon reading "Zoo". Looks like Nakii is also in touch with the animals at the zoo. You clicked the "Zoo" chat room and discovered that virtually all of the animals in the zoo has some contact with Nakii before and from the chat records, you see they talked a lot about the zoo and the outside world in general.

"The animals at the zoo are also good friends to me," you heard Nakii said, "And you know, they all agree that the zoo is quite a boring place to be. But I constantly cheered them up by promising that I'll hide them within me one day and take on some crazy adventures. And you're the first human, as I said before, to get to be on such adventure with me and later you will be joined by my close friend, Shamu. For now, just relax and take you time, to enjoy my 'Computer Room'." *Smile*

Since you want to play the other function of Nakii's Computer, you hide the window for Oceania-Talk and started clicking on the Ocean-net icon. It opens some kind of net browser and you immediately saw an official "Ocean-net" site. The site looks just like one you would see on the internet, but most of the information caters to whales and other sea animals. There is also an icon that includes the latest sea temperatures, weather, and advisory. Most of the news are concerned with the best locations for good-tasting fishes, cautions about "humans within proximity", latest updates by other whales in other parts of the world.

Seeing this kind of technological sophistication only enchants you further about the "civilization" in this undersea world. What kind of advanced sea animals will you encounter later on? And maybe, this confirms the theories of scientists, you think, that sea animals are far more intelligent than humans could ever imagine.

You shifted your mind back, remembering that you haven't gotten onto the Internet ( the human one) for about one and a half day already. You recalled that the Ocean-net can also access the Internet if you want to. You asked Nakii how to do it and she replied that you just have to click on an option that says "Human Internet" on the upper-left corner and you're good to go.

Indeed, on the upper-left hand corner, there is an option that says "Human Internet." You clicked on that option, and you are immediately greeted by the familiar interface of the Internet Explorer. You started typing in the addresses of your favorite news and video-sharing sites. On the front page, a startling headline caught your attention.

Big Whale at Zoo Missing, Night-Watch not Seen
---Blue Whale at zoo gone without a trace; no explanations given; Night-Watch not seen since early last night

You continue to read about how the zoo is now searching for the whale and that the incident has become a national sensation. You promptly asked Nakii on what she planned to do about this if 'our' secrets were to be discovered.

"There is no need to worry, I've gotten a 'decoy' blue whale who is ready to take my place tonight, and by tomorrow the zoo will probably be thinking that I was sleeping in some dark corners of the vast tank back there," said Nakii telepathically, "As for you, I got several animals at the zoo to be disguised as you; as long as you're on the night shift, detection is virtually impossible."

You breath a sigh of relief at the news. As you do so, you saw the chat window at the bottom that you haven't read when you were talking with Shamu.

What is the content of the chat message?
