Two days later you are led to the auction block. The sweat and the stench odor of the cell give way to the fresh breeze of open air. Still not free air, yet. In the market there are only but six merchants; the rest are their guards and employees and none of them are interested in you.
The event goes smoothly; not even twenty minutes are spent in the whole operation. Everything has been standardized for centuries: the prices, symbols for your skills and age painted on your arms, cleaned and shaved only minutes before for you must command a price as high as possible.
The merchant who finally bought you leads the prince, you and another twenty unfortunate souls to his various clients. The journey is trying and long, but not as harsh as you expected. The boy has found some benefit in that he now has lost all his extra weight, and maybe a bit more.
Two weeks of walk later you arrive to what would be your next home. A moderately large state surrounded by barley fields and rows after rows of apple treas and grapes. Fortunately you will live in the large house
