This choice: The two boys find a new home. | Go Back

Chapter 15: The two boys find a new home.   (ID #483560)
an addition by: Miguel-Kestrel  More by this author

January the 15th

Untitled A new home.

I want like to say that I have fought the temptation to title this item "Untitled". It looks so cool but, if you think about it, everybody else has done that a thousand times. I don't know, like if people were lazy or too uneasy to find a name for the title. So I dropped the idea. Better to have a bad title that I can always later change than no title at all, I think.

That's just what I think, I'm not very good at anything.

OK, now for the matter.

We packed our things, and that is the lists of the things we packed.I'm too uneasy today. Let's start over, because that sentence was bad...

This is the list of the stuff we packed: (Just a summary, ok?)

One backpack, each of us, with the most basic things, just in case.

Clothes (lots)
Food, in small bags. That was Eddie's idea, so we can take them easily downstairs.
School stuff and books. That was my idea. Note to self: I have to get some survival books.
Toys.
A toolbox.

I hoped it would suffice as it was already quite a lot of weight. We were counting we would find anything else we needed in our new home, or near to it.

Eddie said he knew a nice suburb up north -That would be great for us, inner city boys- just half an hour away... by car -that was not so great for us, pedestrians. Man it was a long walk.

Eddie was so scared all the time. Now he says he wasn't, but he was. I don't know why, because dogs pretty much left us alone, and there is nothing else that could be a threat. I guess he's just younger.

It was a very long walk, maybe three hours or more, but then, out of a sudden we found our home. It has some windows broken, but we don't care because we will fix them with some panes we will take from other homes, or maybe from some warehouse. But, no, the windows seem pretty standard to me.

It is a very nice house without any corpses inside. That's great because like I don't like corpses. It is two stories high, yet it is small, just three bedrooms, one kitchen and two bathrooms, and a garage. There is a Lexus inside. I wonder why.

It has a fireplace! and lots of coal. Guess where we are sleeping by tonight Tomorrow we will get our things, not today, because it is so freezing.

PS: Like I am a bit concerned about Eddie, he avoids any question I ask about him, and his undies smell, and he was so scared... I have nightmares too, but in the daylight I'm fine. Don't know...
