Her body was numb and she could move her limb. She was very weak and was worried for her life. She had never been struck by lightning before and had no idea what would happen to her.
David thought about helping Morgana, because of everything that happened in those dreams he had. However, something in his mind reminded him that she was a demon, a giant demon even, and she couldn't be trusted. David lifted his bow again and yelled, "You're a demon. How can I trust you? How do I know you're not going to torture or eat me once I help you?"
"David," Morgan replied as tears crawled down faster from her eyes, "Why would I do something like that? You're my friend. You're the only friend I have. I would never hurt you."
David was still unsure. Morgana did seem to be telling the truth, but demons were supposed to be excellent deceivers. "You've lied to me before. How do I know you're not lying to me now?" David questioned.
"I haven't lied to you," Morgana cried.
"You were a human in those dreams, you made me think you were human," David told her.
"I'm a human in my dreams because I want to be human," Morgana explained, "I would do anything to become human."
"And why would you want to be human?" David questioned.
"Because I don't want to be a monster anymore," Morgana sobbed, "Everyone fears me. They run away because they think I'm evil, but I'm not. I would never harm a human unless I had to. I'm a good person." David began to lower his bow again. "All my life I've been alone," Morgana cried, "Not even my father wanted me. I've been so lonely, David. You're the only person that's been kind to me, the only person who’s actually talked with me. Please, I don't want to lose you to."
David thought back to the dreams he had. It all made since why Morgana was all alone and why everyone hated and feared her. She was a giant demon. Unlike other demons, Morgana was lonely. She wanted someone to be her friend, someone to care for her. It seems as though she was even looking for human companionship, but no human would go near her. David remembered how lonely and sad the woman from his dreams was. If Morgana was anything like the woman she depicted herself of being, then maybe she wouldn't really hurt David. "But why did you come here?" David questioned, "What did you plan to do with me?"
"I only wanted to find out if you were real," Morgana explained, "I thought you were just a dream, but when you told me you lived in this field, I wondered if you were real. I had to see if you were real."
"She had flown all this way through a storm, just to see if I was real?" David wondered. Thinking about it more, the woman from his dreams did seem lonely enough to brave such weather just to find a friend. Could this giant demon really see him as a friend? It seemed hard to believe, but David was quickly believing it.
"Please, David," Morgana continued to plead as her tears fell with the pouring rain, "You said you would never leave me, and you'd be my friend. You... you said I was beautiful. Please don't abandon me like everyone else, David. I don’t want to lose you."
Morgana closed her eyes and continued to sob. She was starting to feel like it was hopeless and that David would abandon her like everyone else. However, David wasn't leaving. He was finding it harder and harder to abandon Morgana. Sure she was a demon, but David was finding it difficult to leave such a sad woman. Despite her being a demon, David's kind hearted and chivalrous nature wanted to help Morgana because she was in need of help.
David slung his bow back over his shoulder and put away the arrow. David took a deep breath and stepped towards Morgana. Surprisingly, it didn't take much effort to keep him from running away. Morgana's pleas, tears, and injuries pushed his body forward making him want to help the giant demon. If Morgana wasn't injured, crying, or pleading to him, it would have been a much different situation. David approached her large face which if upright, David would only barely reach her eyes. David placed a hand on her cheek and began to run it. Morgana opened her eyes. Those large dark blue eyes stared at David with both disbelieve and joy. "I won't abandon you, Morgana. You're my friend. I made you a promise, and I'm going to keep that promise," David informed her. Morgana smiled and this time, she cried with joy and happiness. She had never been so happy in all her life. She finally had a true friend.
"How did you crash?" David asked.
"Lightning... it hit my back," Morgana informed her friend.
"Can you move?" David questioned.
"No," Morgana answered.
David looked at the wing closest to him and told her, "Your wing maybe broken to. I may have something that can help, but it's in my house."
"No, please don't go?" Morgana pleaded.
David looked into Morgana's eyes and promised, "I'm just going to my house. I will be right back. It won't be long." With that said, David ran back out of the wood towards his home. The trees no longer protected him from the rain and he was hit by the full blast of the wind and rain, but that did not matter to David. He ran into his house and got what he needed. He hurried back out to the forest to where Morgana was. Morgana was clearly happy to see him return.
"I have a rare plant that may help you," David explained as he showed her the jar with strange looking herbs in it, "They are rare around here, but they are heavily populated in magical forests were elves and fairies live. It is the strongest healing herb and can heal almost any injury even with the smallest of doses. I've traded a few items for a good amount of these. This one dose may seem small to you, but it has concentrated magic within it and being that you're a magical creature, it might have a greater affect on you."
"Do I have to eat it?" Morgana asked.
"Yes, so open your mouth," David instructed. Morgana opened her mouth and stuck out her tongue. David was glad he wouldn't have to put his arm in Morgana's mouth. He dumped the herbs on her large tongue and Morgana reeled it in. She swallowed the herbs quickly.
How did the herbs do?
Choice 1: The herbs have an almost immediate effect and heal all of Morgana's wounds almost instantly, even her broken wing. Morgana regained her energy as well and she's no longer weakened.
Choice 2: The herbs heal her cuts and bruises. She is no longer paralyzed and she regains her energy. Her wing is still broken though. Where will this story go next? Your choices are below...
