They started looking at each other with concern. Were they shorter? And what in god’s green earth had happened to their muscles?
Smiling at the complete reversal of fortunes, April held her hands out.
“Hey, Shawn, toss me the ball. It’s our turn to kick off.”
Shawn shook his head. “Are you crazy? Look at what’s happened to us. Look at what’s happened to you! Something strange is going on.”
Sarah leaned forward, smiling broadly. “Karma?”
Bill rubbed his shore ribs, bruised from Sarah’s crushing muscles. “Hey, this isn’t right. We have practice on Monday. What the hell are we supposed to do?”
April smiled, pulling her arm into a massive, 21 inch bicep flex. “Oh, I don’t know. Maybe we could take your place.”
The boys all looked on with anger and frustration. Tom grumbled. “You know that won’t happen!
Becky took a step toward the boys. “Well then, I believe there was an offer for wresting.”
Amber took two steps toward the boys. “Unless you’d like to play some more football.”
The girls all moved forward as the boys backed up. April yelled out.
“If you boys keep moving away, we’re going to assume that the football game is still on and just start tackling whoever is nearest.”
The boys stopped in their tracks.
Amanda smiled in her room. How perfect was that? The girls were nearly as big as the boys used to be. And the boys were nearly as small as the girls used to be. Or were the boys smaller? Or the girls bigger? What she needed was a set of binoculars.
As the girls neared the boys, Amanda turned the dial again. If the game was over, she figured to bring the boys back to normal. No reason to destroy the local football team. As she adjusted the muscle size, deciding just how much to turn it up, she noticed a small switch on the other side. Looking closer, it said Delay. Scratching her head, she flipped the switch, wondering just what the switch would do. As she looked at the gun, she failed to notice that it was firing automatically, set where the boys were. Only now the girls were standing in that spot. The gun hummed gently, staying on much longer than Amanda had fired previously.
The girls all felt the beam hit and potential built up within them. April spat out a quick laugh. Becky looked around at the other girls.
“Is. Is it happening again?’
Amber scrunched her face. “I don’t know. It feels different this time.”
Sarah nodded. “Yeah, like the uh, spirit is being stored within us.”
Amanda, staring intently at the gun, finally noticed that the trigger was pulled down and quickly realized her error. Letting out a small “eep”, she flipped up the delay switch and the trigger moved back out. She looked at the field where the gun was aimed and moved her eye to line up with the barrel.
Amanda pulled her shoulders up, a bit embarrassed. She looked at the gun. The muscle gain was set pretty high. The height gain was only up slightly. Looking out the window she watched carefully, wondering what the delay really meant and just how long it would be before something happened.
Still hoping to bring the boys back to normal, she waited to get another shot. But the four college girls were standing in her way.
Once the feeling subsided, the girls shrugged their shoulders, acknowledging that nothing had happened. The boys were frozen in their spot, fearful of the girl’s reaction to some unseen force. Perhaps the same one that caused this change. Although the boys seemed relieved that nothing else had happened, they didn’t feel better when the girls looked back at them.
With smiles on their faces, the girls quickly descended on the now cowering boys.
Becky was the first to reach Mike. “Come here Mike, let’s head back to my room for a little one on one action.”
Mike tried to back away, but Becky brought her bull arm around Mike’s now slender shoulder, pulling him toward her. She leaned her head into his weakened chest and smiled. “We’re going to have so much fun!” She started marching toward the house the girl’s rented near the park, practically dragging Mike with her.
Amber quickly grabbed the shocked Tom around the waist next. He still couldn’t fathom how he could be looking up at the pretty powerhouse. Tom tried to break her hold, but Amber chuckled and pulled him off the ground. “Now Tom, I can carry you back to my room, or you can walk. Your choice.” Tom dropped his head in defeat and latched onto Amber’s hip. She dropped him back to the ground and started forward with Tom walking sullenly beside her.
Sarah simply smiled at Bill, who still nursing his arms and chest. She pulled her arm out and Bill slid in next to her. She gave him a hard hug, causing him to wince. With Sarah giggling, they walked in tandem toward the girl’s house.
April stood there with her hands on her hips, flexing her muscles, trying to look as big and powerful as possible and doing an admirable job. At 6 foot 2, she was nearly as tall as Shawn once was and was actually more muscular than he used to be. Now Shawn was under 6 feet tall and felt terribly weak, especially when looking at the beautiful Amazon sneering at him menacingly.
“Well, Shawn. You’ve wanted to date me for years. And when that failed, you looked to make me look bad at every turn. I knew this football game was your idea. Too bad it didn’t turn out like you’d hoped.”
Shawn felt as though he were shrinking further. April smiled as he began to sweat.
“Well today’s your lucky day! I do believe I will take you up on your standing offer for that wresting match.”
Not giving Shawn the chance to come peacefully, April reached out and pulled Shawn up off his feet, giggling at both how strong she was and how light he felt. Shawn yelped as April tossed his body over her thick right shoulder and began to march toward her house.
“Yes sir. Today is your lucky day.”
Amanda pulled the gun from the window as the college kids headed away.
“Oh well. I’ll just have to catch up with the boys later. Assuming that they survive.”
