There, growing out of the riverbank, was a tree with a great big hole next to it and, wandering in a circle, was a man who seemed to be constantly looking upwards.
"Is that a man of Arran?" He asked.
"I've never seen a man quite so pale." Fiver answered. "He must be."
"So," Pipkin checked as they stood together looking towards their intended desitination, "That's where we need to go?"
"I don't like hopping anywhere near a man where he can see you." Bigwig commented.
"I don't think he can." Hazel returned. "He seems to be staring at the sky all the time. It's a wonder he doesn't fall over." Just then Fiver started off towards the hole. "Fiver!"
"What's gotten into him?!?" Bigwig remarked as he and Hazel persued him. Primrose and Pipkin followed on next with Blackberry bringing up the rear. Fiver came to a stop just outside the hole.
"Fiver," Hazel told him, "Please don't do that again." Fiver didn't reply but looked into the hole, the eerie feeling this made persuaded Hazel and Blackberry to look in as well. Primrose and Bigwig, on the other hand, turned round to remain vigiliant of the man's actions. Pipkin just sat on his haunches, looking every which way. The next thing that happened was...
