Upon seeing that the nuclear strike failed to eliminate Valerie the President of the United States made a press conference shortly after Valerie's survival was confirmed by the governments spy satellites. The President addressed the nations people and grimly reported that the powerful being known as Valerie had survived the nuclear attack launched against it. He then bravely stated that the American government would continue to oppose her with all the military might at their disposal.

Although he didn't say it out right Jenny had the strong feeling that the President might launch more nuclear missiles against Valerie. Jenny couldn't explain it, but she found that along with her increased strength, speed and ability to change size at will she had also become much smarter. Before she had found the cube Jenny generally took people at their word. She would even believe politicians and their promises before elections despite the fact that very few ever fulfilled their promises in full. However despite the President's reassuring words that they would prevail against Valerie Jenny could see through his subtle body language that he was scared. If Jenny was correct in her assumption. The nuclear blast would have increased Valerie's power to unprecedented levels. Nothing on Earth would be able to harm her. In fact any attempts the military made to stop Valerie would only make her stronger. Bullets would bounce harmlessly off her impenetrable skin. The energy released from bombs of any size would be absorbed through her skin and feed her already mind boggling strength.

Jenny turned to Eric and said, "We have to warn him."

Eric replies, "Who the President? Why he already knows about Valerie?"

Jenny bends down to Eric's ear and whispers, "Yes, but he doesn't know about her ability to absorb energy, and if we don't tell him he might launch more nukes, and make her even stronger."

Eric's face goes pail and he replies, "You're right we have to warn him, but how will we get to Washington in time to warn him?"

Jenny looks at Eric matter of factly and says, "You have to ask."

Eric looks at his seven foot girlfriend and he remembers how quickly she had run carrying him to this truck stop. "Oh. Okay, but can I buy a jacket first. It's kind of cold when you're carrying me and running faster than most cars can drive."

After Eric gets his jacket the two of them exit the truck stop. As they leave the truck driver who had seen Jenny running beside his truck earlier finally gets the courage to look outside the bathroom. He sees Eric and Jenny in the parking lot. He sees Jenny pick Eric up and run 500 miles an hour down the highway. Upon seeing this he abruptly turns around and goes back into the bathroom.

Despite Jenny's speed it takes almost an entire day for them to get to Washington DC. Every hour or so Jenny has to stop because Eric is nearly frozen by the speed at which they are traveling. It takes a while for Eric to warm up again, but Jenny soon discovers that she has the ability to increase her body heat which allows Eric to warm up faster and go further without freezing to death. The periodic rests are not the only thing that delays them. In places with more people and traffic Jenny is forced to slow down so as not to crash into anyone or anything. However despite the delays the two eventually make it to Washington DC.

Outside the White House Eric asks, "So how are we going to get in?"

Jenny responds, "Why don't we ask that guard by the gate? I'm sure he'll let us in if we tell him how important it is that we see the President."
