Chapter 10: History of the Sin'dorei   (ID #1048475)
an addition by: Dylan M  More by this author

You wake up to the sky-length face of Delona staring down at you.

"You alright little Blood Elf?"

You groan and try glaring at the female Dwarf "Ask me that after I don't feel like a fel-powered Undead with raw squid and onions on it's breath gave me mouth-to-mouth." you grumble.

Delona frowned at you, not liking the crack as her stench. She acknowledged her feet smelt bad but that was too far. "Well...guess I should have expected that kind of response from a member of a race of traitors to the Alliance, you did a really good job too."

Hearing what she said, you snap, how DARE she say that!?

"You think we Blood Elves WANTED to join the Horde? The Alliance betrayed us! We had no choice! Either turn to out enemies, the Horde, for help, Or be killed by the Alliance when it was their own leader that had us marching off to our deaths unless we accepted aid form the Naga during the Third War!" you shouted, angry at thinking of those times in your kind's history.

"Well then how about this then Short-stuff: If you're so mad about what I said, your next task is to "enlighten" me on Blood Elves." Delona growled.

"Gladly. I'm not even FROM the Outland waists! The sunwell was restored and some of us Blood Elves reclaimed the City of Silvermoon, heck! those that inhabit Silvermoon, like Tae'thelan Bloodwatcher, the leader of the Reliquary, are even researching ways to cur my kin's magic-addiction for good! I'm a Farstrider-in-training for the Silvermoon Reliquary!"

Delona looked at you thoughtfully. "So your race was divided and you're part of the "good" Blood Elves?"

You nod "We even renamed ourselves "Blood Elves" and wear red in honor of the elves whose blood was when the elves were nearly exterminated by the Scourge...but try explaining that to the High Elves and the Night Elves...and after Garithos and his racist views forced us to join the Horde in order to simply stay alive, the rest of the Alliance viewed us as traitors when we had no choice but to join the Horde, and because of that, they won't listen if we try explaining the reason of our joining the Horde to anyone in the Alliance, they just try killing us on sight. Think about this: the Alliance was going to kill us off when it was their own leader's raciest judgement that forced us to break away from them, but the Horde KNEW the Sin'dorei were too dangerous to them to allow us to be left to our own devices. We HAD to side with the Horde since the Alliance wanted us dead for "treason" and if we didn't choose a side, the forces of both Alliance AND Horde would have hunted us down like we were nothing but beasts, the full force of every race on both sides bearing down on us with the Blood Elves caught in the middle. We'd have been wiped out!"

Delona stared at you as you vented, she clearly didn't know any of this before now. While she and the rest of the Alliance rejoiced and celebrated at how Garithos was dead, how it tied into the mutiny of the Blood Elves by leaving them backed into a corner was news to her.

" 'Trust no one'...it's become the mantra of my people and for good reason. The western Horde view the blood elves as dangerous, volatile and ultimately destructive. The Horde orcs, Darkspear trolls and Tauren distrust the blood elves. Blood elves feel betrayed by the Alliance and are enemies of both humanity and the night elves. The high elves view with horror and revulsion. We're not welcome in Alliance lands. The humans led the Exodus from Lordaeron, abandoning the blood elves to the Scourge, taking many high elves with them. The night elves banished us from our homes so very long ago, and those grudges still run deep. The other races are disliked merely for their representation in the Alliance — the friend of my enemy is my enemy, so to speak."

You sighed, then jerked in surprise as you felt large fingers stroke your back.you look up and seen your the giantess of a Dwarf woman stroking you. Her eyes held...pity?

"You and yours have had nothing but hard times and can't trust anyone all because of the way you've had to live...no wonder you look at every other race with hate. You had to suffer for all that." Delona said softly. She scooped you up and cuddled you. "Well don't worry little one...I'll take care of you."

You sigh and accept it, not that you could refuse anyway. But trust a member of the Alliance? Could you really do that?

At least an hour later...
