They were hoping Kim wouldn’t follow them, figuring that she’d want to yell at Scott more than she would them.
As it turned out, the girl in question didn’t go try to rip her ex’s head off, but rather followed them, peeking at them from around the corner. As they whispered, she made out a few words like “different”, “complicated”, and “next time, I do the talking.” However, when Knives suggested they bring in a mind eraser, Ramona not only told her that was crazy, but unnecessary. Scott clearly trusted his friends, and they should to. She was willing to wager that Stephen was not only trustworthy, but had enough skeletons in his closet for potential blackmail, and Young Neil would probably worship Scott like a god once he was told. The only person she was unsure about was Kim.
Ramona had taken an interest and fondness for the girl, and wondered whether or not this was difficult for her since she was Scott’s ex. On the plus side, Kim wasn’t an evil one, but she and Scott had only just cleared the air between them a very short time ago. Ramona bit on her thumb as she feared she may have created another Knives Chau, while Knives openly said that she was insulted by that. However, that was when the two noticed the redhead staring at them.
“Kim…?” now this was interesting, Ramona thought. She definitely wasn’t getting an angry vibe from the drummer in front of her. Knives looked even closer, spotting something in her eyes that she’d know from a mile away. Kim was frozen as she had no idea what to do or say as Scott’s Chinese schoolgirl whispered into Ramona ear, and she saw her eyes light up.
“What’s up, Kim?” Ramona grinned, finally getting her friend to come out of her stupor. She just exhaled, making some of her hair fly up briefly, before giving off a look that said she didn’t care “Nothing.”
“Are you sure? I mean, finding out you’re old boyfriend is now in love with two women must be pretty hard take in. I mean I would scream or something, maybe tell him it’s immoral maybe, but you seem cool with it.” Ramona spoke as she walked back over to the living room. Knives remained by her side, waiting for her chance to strike if their target still resisted. In fact, what Kim said next as she turned her back to them made her so transparent, she might as well have been a ghost “It’s a free country.”
“Okay Kim, if you won’t start talking…” Ramona briefly pondered how to crack this nut, when she saw that Knives had her arms crossed under chest. With one tug, Ramona had her jacket flying off, and then pulled her shirt up to her neck “AAAH!!!!”
“Knives won’t stop flashing!” Ramona told her. She’d apologize to Knives later, but she was the one who decided to go commando. As expected, Kim shut her eyes, but if with her arms guarding her face, Ramona kept on dragging Knives around the girl and forced the boobs to be inched away from her face. Kim didn’t dare try to smack them away since that meant she’d have to touch them. Knives’ face by now was as red as Kim’s hair.
“Alright! Alright! I’ll talk!” Kim shouted. Ramona had to admit, she loved the defeated look on her face. As she helped the disgruntled woman to the couch, Knives tugged her shirt back down, vowing revenge on Ramona, but right afterwards, she actually stopped for a moment to jump up and then grinned at the fact that her boobs had some jiggle to them. With that said, she sat her cute butt on the other side of Kim as Ramona watched her stare at the ground.
“I’m guessing that since you guys aren’t Scott, you can keep a secret.” Kim started. She briefly looked up to see her ex’s girlfriends both nod their heads. Even with their assurance though, she still sighed, finding it hard to even think about this.
“The truth is, everything Scott has gone through this past year, minus that time when I thought he was dead, I’ve loved every second of it. I never thought I’d be able to use the words ‘Scott Pilgrim’ and ‘mature’ in the same sentence without ‘will never be’ in between. I mean, he actually admitted that he was dating both of you, to my face, and didn’t even brag about it like any other guy would. Sometimes I can’t believe that this is really the same Scott Pilgrim I knew in high school, but he is. You guys are really lucky.” It was surprising to both Ramona and Knives to see Kim smile a little with that last statement. Yes, they knew what they saw in her eyes, but it was still shocking to see openly admit that she was actually happy for them even when knowing that Scott was sharing them. Still, one thing remained unanswered.
“So how come you didn’t say this a second ago?” Knives asked. Ramona was about to say that she was still in shock, but then saw Kim plop her face back into her hands and grumble “Because thinking about reminds me of what I missed out on.”
