Being swallowed had been great, but she has other things to do rather than just stay here and digest. Well, actually in her case, she didn't really. Her convoy duty had been dull, and looked like it would have continued that way. Still, even if she knows from all the lasses that Jason had eaten that digestion isn't painful or anything, she does know it is rather dull.
She is quite surprised, and rather pleased, when Larry announces "I'm off to the comic store. Anything I should buy for you?" Now this is unusual. She can't recall Jason talking much to any of his meals. Nor can she think of other lads paying much attention to their snacks.
However, pay attention to the situation. Larry had all but offered to pay for the comics. He is just begging to be taken advantage of... "I'm pretty much broke at the moment, but I do want.." [A memory of the last time she took advantage of Larry ending badly is quickly suppressed. That was completely different from this time, obviously.]
"No problem. I can buy them for you." Well, this day is suddenly looking up. "Any place else you want to go?"
"Yeah, I was wanting to pick up the latest Playboy." She had hardly finished speaking before she realizes that was going to sound odd.
"Playboy?"
"...Well, yes... I... ah, read some of the articles..." Boy, does that sound lame. "..and there is some good fiction in it." Not that Jason had ever read any of it, at least that Sonja can recall.
Maybe best to derail this subject. "Say, I was really into that comic I was reading. Could you read it to me?"
"Huh? Oh sure." Larry responds, and seems to have forgotten about her hint she is not a girl. That is a relief.
It is also a relief to get to the comic store and get Larry thinking about something other than why Sonja has unusual reading tastes. Hopefully he will forget all about it.
That hope is ruined when it turns out the comic store does sell Playboy and Sonja has to listen to it being bought. Happily Larry also remembers his promise to read the comic to Sonja, and he quickly heads home to do his duty. Surprisingly quickly, Larry is sprawled on his bed and reading to Sonja.
This is surprisingly pleasant. Oh, Sonja would definitely prefer reading directly, but Sonja had suggested this as a desperate way to avoid disaster. Having it rather nice instead of she just has to suffer thru is a distinct bonus.
Indeed, when Larry finishes and offers to read another, her answer is a happy "Sure, how about..." but now she notices her limp arms. She is practically digested and about to become a large puddle in Larry's belly. For a moment she panics, but recalls in time that this happens to girls on a daily basis, and even if this is her first time, she had better not let Larry know that. Getting a grip on herself, she corrects her earlier statement "No, I guess not. I'm pretty well digested now, and I won't last more than a couple of pages. Maybe another time..."
"OK, I'll deliver your comics... and the Playboy." is Larry's response, to which Sonja finds she is too far gone to respond to. She is practically soup now and is rapidly being converted into nutrition. It is not long before she drifts off. Where will this story go next? Your choices are below...
