Chapter 28: Necromatic Back Up   (ID #784895)
an addition by: Walson  More by this author

With all five bustling through the dense paralyzed hordes, it was like trying to get through the crowds in a department store during Christmas rush hour. When the five got into the larger caves Zann climbed up on top of Dusk while Silver sat on Mist. Guill opted to walk besides the two dragons, claiming that neither dragons could take his weight. Zann was still doubtful of the priest's true weight, but was fairly convinced when he saw the deep footprints that trailed behind him.

Soon they arrived to where the Necromancers built up their defenses, runes covering the floor and several of the larger undead beasts surrounding the three heavily armored Necromancers. All three of them had a pained look to their faces as they tried to regain control of their undead troops.

"Quick, before they have a chance to react" Zann commanded, but Guill held out his hand and blocked him.

There was a rumble as a large armored beast lumbered into the cave's mouth. It looked like a mix between a wolf and a saber tooth tiger, thick brown hair covering its face and arms, and huge fangs protruding from the front of its mouth, with wolfish ears on the top of its head. It walked upright and bore a thick torso and shoulders, like a brutish man. Its armor was thick and plentiful, weighing down the beast, but making it almost impenetrable.

"Ah, Zann, Dusk, nice to meet you again" the creature said with a gruff but slightly recognizable voice, "It looks like you got some more friends."

Zann was confused, the voice rang a bell in his mind, but he has never talked to a beast like this. "Who are you?" demanded Zann.

"I can understand your confusion, as my form has been improved by the King's magic" the beast said, "but you might remember your filthy dragon gassing one of my troops."

Zann's and Dusk's eyes widened as Zann realized who the beast was. "Locks, what the hell did you do to yourself?" He was quickly distracted as the priest tapped Zann's shoulder and said, "I will be near that wall watching you, if all of you take too long I will be forced to intervene, alright?"

Zann only had the time to dodge when Locks threw his fist at him and Silver quickly tried to counter attack.
