Gale asked heading over to the pile of books in his cave.
Gami shook his head in disapproval saying, "Only the LBE, which is technically the only book you will ever need." And when he saw Gale heading towards the cave entrance with the LBE, Gami added, "In your position I wouldn't go that way. The most efficient and least potentially harmful path would be in the opposite direction at the cave to the left." At this point Gami demonstrated a stunning burst of strength as he began dragging the dragon by the tail deeper into the cave.
"I don't remember there being a cave with another exit from this particular mountain," Gale said with worry before tugging his tail out of Gami's grip.
"Technically, I wouldn't call our exit a cave yet," the paper man said quickly, "But time is of the essence and if you are to survive we we must move post haste and keep talking to a minimum." Gale just nodded as he carefully positioned the large book in his mouth so he could use his front legs.
The entrance of the cave was just out of sight before they heard the clanking of armor and the sound of voices. This proved to be enough incentive to have Gale increase in speed. Still, the sudden darkness that was enveloping them was making navigating the caves difficult.
"Found it," Gami said as Gale felt Gami's cold paper hand directing his snout in the direction of the exit. "A note of warning though, keep your eyes closed and your wings as close to your body as possible. Now, run as fast as you can." In response Gale gulped in worry, though he trusted Gami because he was his friend, even if he was technically not alive.
Gale ran as fast as he could, not knowing what was going to happen next. His chances for survival depended entirely on Gami's guidance. There was a sudden crashing noise of rock collapsing on itself before the dragon's head began starting to hurt.
"Ow," mumbled Gale as he rubbed his head. The last time he remembered his head hurting like this was when he was just a hatchling when he ran into the wall full speed trying to learn how to fly.
"Now it's a cave," Gale heard Gami say along with the sound of metal armor approaching. "I still suggest we make post haste though."
The two of them continued running, though Gale was blind, being lead by Gami's directions. It took a few minuets before Gale was able to see a dim light illuminating the walls of the cave and from then it only got brighter.
Finally, Gale could smell the fresh air and feel the warm glow of the sun. Where will this story go next? Your choices are below...
