I think we should get started repopulating the human race.”
“Fry, it’s only been 5 minutes since we left the ship,” replied an exasperated Leela. “And besides, even if we do turn out to be hopelessly stranded on a deserted planet with no chance of escape, I still wouldn’t do any repopulating with you before the third date.”
“But don’t you get it Leela?” Fry pressed on. “This is a gazillion miles away from civilization. We can finally live our lives the way want and to hell with society’s rules! No more ‘Deliver this package, Fry!’ or ‘Wash your underwear, Fry!’ or ‘Stay 50 feet away at all times, Fry!’ This is our chance to make our own stupid rules for once, like free refills on all fountain drinks, and slumber parties every Friday night!”
Amy perked up at the mention of parties. “Ooh, I packed the cutest pajamas for this trip!”
“Well, I do enjoy making rules…” mused Leela.
“And I enjoy breaking them!” added Bender, tossing an empty beer bottle over his shoulder.
“No one knows where we are or can tell us what to do,” Fry continued. “We can be whatever we want. We could be space-pirates! Or space-cowboys! Or pirate-cowboys!”
Just as Leela was about to tell Fry to shut up, Amy abruptly asked, “Is anyone else hearing a buzzing noise? It sounds familiar.”
The entire crew grew silent as they looked around the dense alien jungle. All four of them now heard the low-pitched incessant hum coming ominously from all directions. Fry, Leela, Bender, and Amy all drew closer together out of fear for whatever could be causing the infernal noise. “Hold me!” exclaimed Amy, before flinging herself into Fry’s arms and kissing him passionately. Fry was terrified too, but not scared enough not to return Amy’s affection.
Leela slapped Fry angrily. “Cut it out you two, look over there!” she said, pointing over to a branch of a tree. A small, two-headed snake had wiggled its way up to a bird’s nest, and was hypnotizing a baby bird with its brown, psychedelic eyes. Just as the baby bird was about to march willingly into one of the alien snake’s open mouths, its mother landed behind it and transfixed the snake with hypnotic eyes of its own. The snake tied itself in a knot and jumped off the branch into a waiting crocodile’s mouth.
“This must be the hypnotoad’s home planet,” Leela surmised. “We have to be really careful if we’re going to survive here.”
“Careful, gotcha,” replied Fry, as he absent-mindedly munched on a suspicious, wavy-brown colored fruit he had picked from a tree just 5 seconds before. Where will this story go next? Your choices are below...
