Just then, Megan's younger sister, Miranda, entered the room.
"Ooh, Megan," she said excitedly. "You got a package. What's in it?"
Megan pulls the note out of the box and reads it. She scoffs. "It's nothing," she replies. "Probably just some stupid prank or something." She pulls the object out. It's a gun-shaped object. It was colored lime green. Probably a toy or a water gun. Megan knew her sister was a bit of a tomboy and liked playing with guns sometimes. "You want this?"
"Sure!" Miranda says, grabbing the device and running off to her room. Megan frowns, tossing the box in the trash.
Megan grabs a pear from the kitchen table and heads upstairs to her room. As she passes her younger sister's room, she hears a loud crash. She opens the door to see Miranda looking down at her.
Her younger sister had completely changed. First of all ,she was nearly a foot taller than Megan. Second, she had a broader frame than before. Her shoulders were nearly as wide as her door now. She wasn't muscular, per se; rather, she was just...bigger. Anyone could tell she possessed a lot of strength now. Kind of like a powerlifter.
And third, Miranda was holding her closet door in her hand, the object flying off its handles when Megan's younger sister went to open it.
"Miranda, what happened?" Megan said, stepping inside.
"I don't know," the younger sister replied, trying not to cry. "I started fooling around with this toy and all of a sudden, I became...like this." She motioned her hand up and down for emphasis.
Megan walked up to Miranda and tried to console her, putting her arm around one of Miranda's broad shoulders. "It's okay," she reassures her younger sibling.
"Please don't tell mom," the 11 year old pleads. She places the closet door on her bed.
"Just give me the gun," Megan asks. Her younger sibling complies. Megan studies the device for a moment. "Okay, I think I've got this." She starts adjusting the controls on either side, trying to figure out how it worked.
After a few moments, Megan raised the device again. "Okay, Miranda. Are you ready?" Miranda nods her head. Megan pulls the trigger, but nothing happens at first.
"Um, Megan? I think you did it wrong."
