It was strange for her to consider a creature of a different species, especially a human, as an ally. However, she did not sense any lies from the human. The human was telling the truth or at least it thought it was telling the truth, unless the human is a perfect liar. However, the elder female doubted that. She was one of the best of the elders to be able to detect lies and many of the things the human had said made sense.
"Maybe we can consider these humans as allies. Their village has been on the edge of our territory for a long time now and we have lived near each other in peace ever since. Neither of our races bothered each other, and if this human's claims are true then... just maybe... we can consider them allies and wouldn't have to worry about them ever again," the female elder wondered.
The female elder continued her thoughts, "I know the humans have never tried to attack us, but others dragons in this community, especially the older ones, tend to fear the humans will. Some can get paranoid. Probably why our race tend to keep to our race of dragons and not many others. If we consider these humans as allies, maybe that paranoia of humans will cease. However, I'm not sure if the other elders will like that. I'm the youngest of the elders. The rest are much older and tend to be less open of the idea of accepting others into the community."
The female elder sighed and finally gave the three dragon and three human newcomers an answer. Kaage translated for Captain Peter which he had been doing for the whole conversation, "I cannot give you a certain answer, because I am not the only one who has to make that decision. I am an elder, but there are more elders than just me and they have an equal say in the matter. Considering weather you're an ally or not is a very important decision that all the elders in this community has to consider."
"Then, do we have to talk to the rest of the elders as well?" Captain Peter questioned.
"Yes, but I don't think we can just bring you and your group into our community to see them," the female elder explained as Kaage translated. The female elder turned to one of her allies and told him to go back to the elders and tell them everything that has occurred. She also told him to ask for their permission to bring the travelers to them and then come back. The male dragon nodded and left to seek the elders.
"Earth dragon Elder, I know that the other elders have make a decision before me and my village can be considered allies or not, but what is your decision, if I may ask?" Captain Peter asked. It was a bold question to ask and Captain Peter didn't realize it until he asked it. Captain Peter stood still and quivered a little more in fear as he stood in front of Kaage and stared up at the Earth dragon the put Kaage's size to shame and was even larger than the male cloud dragon Dracus. Captain Peter had been fearful of the Earth dragon ever since he saw them and had to stand his ground before them. He was lucky that he had been able to keep his calm among them. However, his fear increased in fear that he had offended the Earth dragon.
It was a bold question, but when the female elder could feel the human's fear from the vibrations in the earth, the elder knew that he realized the mistake he had made. However, the female dragon wasn't that all offended by the question, at least, definitely not as offended as another elder would have been. Though the human's question did sound like a demand, the elder knew that it was meant to be more of an inquiry. "Do not be frightened, human; I am not offended by the question. However, you definitely should be more careful with what you say if you are to meet the other elders," the female elder warned, "If you wish to know what I think, I think that you and your village could be considered an ally, but I have no idea how the other elders will see it."
Captain Peter smiled with relief and the female elder smiled. "I've never really introduced myself. My name is Elder Ujana," the female elder stated. Where will this story go next? Your choices are below...
