Chapter 76: Scary First Flight!   (ID #943987)

Solita soon followed suit and took to the air with Ted in her hand, pressed comfortably against her chest. Fakira and Solita flew through the jungle ahead of them. Fakira lead because she had taken a good long look at the map and knew what general direction they need to go, and they need to go west almost exactly. If the map was highly accurate, they could go straight, westward from where the dimensional gate was.

Fakira and Solita flew through the forest quickly, easily dodging and going around trees. Solita was surprised to see how large the trees were. It was as if she wasn't a giantess at all, but human sized. However, having Ted in her hand was proof that she was a giantess at that moment, but that seemed to be the only proof that see was at that moment. It was clear that Felarya was a land of giants. It was a world meant for gigantic creatures to live in, and any human sized creature or smaller was clearly at a disadvantage. Solita was glad that she wasn't her puny fairy size anymore and being the giant meant that she would have to protect Ted from the monsters of Felarya and she had no problems doing so.

"Solita!" Fakira called back, interrupting Solita from her amazement and wonder of Felarya's beauty, size, and dangerous environment. "We should fly above the canopy. We'd be less likely to encounter predators and we'd get a better look at our surroundings," Fakira suggested. Solita nodded and flew upwards with Fakira avoiding branches as they flew at fairly high speeds. Though Felix and Ted trusted their giant friends' abilities, they had to close their eyes at points, fearing they were going to crash.

Being small all her life, Solita was highly adapted to avoiding branches and flying through trees. Fakira noticed this and without consulting Felix and Ted and without even saying a word to each other, Fakira and Solita seemed to agree on a small game. Fakira and Solita flew really close to branches and dodged them at the last second. They would also venture into places where there were fewer spaces between branches. Fakira and Solita were having fun, knowing they were in very little danger of actually crashing due to their experience. However, it pretty much scared the hell out of Felix and Ted who had never experienced flying before.

Fakira and Solita soon reached above the canopy laughing and giggling. When they reached above the canopy, they began hovering over it. "That was fun. You're a really good flier," Fakira complimented.

"Thanks, but I am older than you and I have more practice," Solita told the other giant fairy, "But you're really good to."

The girls were interrupted by a voice calling up to them. Fakira looked down at her chest to she Felix shaking between her hand and breast. Fakira grew worried quickly upon seeing Felix so terrified. Fakira put a finger on the back of Felix's head and pet his head as she asked what was wrong. "Can you warn me before you do something like that again?" Felix pleaded.

"I'm sorry, Felix," Fakira apologized as she continued to stroke the tiny frightened human, "I didn't realize how terrifying it must have been from your perspective. You're not used to flying."

After seeing how fearful Felix was, Solita looked down at her passenger who was pressed against her makeshift bra. Ted's nerves looked just as shot at Felix's. "Was it frightening for you as well?" Solita questioned in a worried tone.

"Felix and I don't have wings," Ted informed the giant face above him, "We're not as accustomed to flying as you two. This is our first flight."

"Sorry for scaring you, Ted," Solita apologized sincerely, "Trust me, flying is fantastic once you're used to it."

"We'll promise not to do something like that again, too soon," Fakira spoke for Solita and herself to Felix and Ted, "From now on, we'll take it easy for you two to gradually get accustomed to it." Solita nodded in agreement with Fakira.

With that agreement, both giant fairies began flying once more going much slower, but keeping a good pace. They also needed to keep themselves from tiring themselves out as well. Solita looked around, but all that was around them was the forest below them. There was an occasional clearing or stream, but other than that, it was just a sea of green below them. Because of this, Solita judged that it was okay to look down at her passenger more often since there was nothing around she had to dodge. Ted was clinging to Solita and pressing himself against her breast to try and protect himself from the wind. Solita thought Ted looked cute the way he did. She had never been so gigantic compared to him and it felt strange. She wondered if she was feeling some of the same feelings Ted did when she was small compared to him. It felt strange to Solita for Ted to be the small one, but she kind of liked it. She had the power to hold life in her hand. No longer was she small and at the mercy of others. She was the one that could do whatever she wanted. She was the powerful one. Of course she would never abuse such powers since she knew what it felt like to be the helpless one. She just liked the feeling of being powerful.

Eventually, Fakira slowed down to Solita and informed her that it was about lunch time. It had been about an hour and a half since they had entered Felarya, but they had made good time flying and they deserved a bit of rest and food. They came upon a clearing where there was a herd of duiker grazing. They hadn't noticed the giant fairies, probably because there weren't as many flying predators in those parts. Fakira captured the biggest with her magic while the others ran. Fakira and Solita landed in the clearing. Fakira hand Felix to Solita and killed the duiker before growing it to a size that all four of them could share a meal. They ate the tasty antelope creature as well as a few fruits that grew in some of the trees. Felix and Ted stayed human sized and all were very alert. Fakira and Ted told them of some of the predators in Felarya.

They then flew on till dinner and did the same thing. The camped in the safest place they could find and looked at the map. They judged where they thought they had another day of flight before they could reach the Bulvon Wood. They continued the next day with no incidents. They did manage to kill a Glouteux for lunch, a 30 foot tall very dumb fowl. The next day they set off and before noon, they could see the Bulvon Wood in the distance. They could tell because of the different trees. They could see some of the Giant Tree in the southwest. It had to have been enormous to even be able to see the tip of it in the distance!

Choice 1: They are attacked by bolas dridders. They manage to snag Solita and pull her down!

Choice 2: They are attacked by rock harpies who try and capture Felix and Ted from them. Fakira's wings are injured in the process making her unable to change people's sizes. Solita and Fakira have to stay giants and Felix and Ted have to stay their normal size till Fakira's wings recover.
