This is an interactive story containing 38 chapters. Each chapter tells part of the story and (usually) ends with multiple choices. Amanda is a 23-year-old college student studying biology. She is also a fan of science fiction.

She lives with two other housemates, David and Rachel, who are boyfriend and girlfriend. Rachel, 22, is her best friend, but she is more feminine, and shares Rachel's love of sci-fi only marginally, and understands little about some of the shows and films she watches. David, 24, is a film buff, and has a large collection of DVD's. On Friday nights, the three arrange movie nights, and watch films of their choice.

One night, Amanda is woken up by a bright light outside her window. She goes outside to see what it is, and finds a strange device on the ground. After fiddling with it for a bit, she finds out that it is capable of warping reality in unusual ways. However, only the reality within her building is affected - when she goes outside, her new form reverts to normal. People affected within the reality accept the change as if reality had always been this way, but she programs it so that David and Rachel can be aware of their changes.
