This is an interactive story containing 279 chapters. Each chapter tells part of the story and (usually) ends with multiple choices. The costume store is very large building, which sells a limited variety of costumes. They are tailored for everyone, ranging from the common, to the rare, to items tailored for bizarre and unusual tastes.

The costumes the shop sells are almost invariably enchanted so that donning a costume will often result in the wearer becoming the thing the outfit represents.

These effects can sometimes be reversed by removing the outfit. Other times only the owner of the store, Dr Charles Babbingtree (Ph.D in Magic).

Within the labyrinth of the store are many powerful artifacts for those brave or lost enough to find them, including a portal that will transport anybody who passes through it to a world fitting the costume they're wearing.
