  Chapter 1: Jonathan   (ID #745882)
an addition by: Nathaniel Hammel  [ More by this author ]

In the brilliant sunlit town of Seaside, California, Jonathan Arthur, was sitting silently on a comfortable couch within his blue painted living room. Not many thoughts breathed in his mind, for moments ago had he concluded a rewarding and healthful meal, so … in all high-quality sense, his mind was unperturbed as it ever could be, and didn’t undergo the need to wander; however it wasn’t that late either.

Jonathan is a lonely 26 year old Book-keeper of Papersack Books, and at his book store, the delight in his heart rises when his only employee, Miss Acacia Luell, walks in through the massive wooden door to work with him. Jonathan likes her allot, but she doesn’t seem to recognize it, and doesn’t know if she ever will; however there is that worker-friend fixation that appears when two work together by themselves.

Miss Luell has a perfect young lady-like smile that many never experience to depart her face, maybe it was that worker smile which was promoted because that was what was supposed to occur at work. She always whore dresses, flowery and brownish in color, nothing too flamboyant or unrelated to the atmosphere of the book store which enclosed them all day. She was short, around 5 foot 4, compared to Jonathan’s loftiness of 6 foot 3, and frequently noted his eyeballs pasted tenderly but man-like to her smooth and tanned legs. She is like a dream girl, soft blonde hair which reached to the heart of her slender back, a breathtaking frame, and ski slope breasts with somewhat perky nipples, which never calmed or softened. She was the one you would always want to enclose in your arms but can’t because she was already taken, or gay.

It is excellent to own a store too; Jonathan finds the undemanding bliss of the quite impression around, the company that it provides during the day, and that he can have the tradition of keeping a non-commercial book store alive, even though there isn’t much money to be made in an old fashioned book store like his.
Jonathan picked up the remote to his small screen television, thumbing through the channels, finally keeping it on HBO. He sighed at the TV as he watched the same movie for 27th times in one week. With not knowing exactly what to do, he moved from the couch to the closet which he had rearranged to be his office when he bought his minute house three years ago, and a ruffled old maroon curtain, hung from the doorway of where once two doors stood, blocking off all view of his house except the television.

While Jonathan is sipping slowly on a 7up and working on the Bookstore’s web site, the door bell rings. Three hours passed, and Jonathan didn’t even realize it. The sun was just beginning to go to bed behind the mists of the ocean, and the sun rays that usually spark through the thin clouds, were positioning itself on the horizon like a pillow, the brightness of the ending day hit Tomas full force in the face when he opened the door to see who it was.

“Hey Jon-boy, what’s up?”

“Not much man and you?” It was Billy West, Jonathan’s best friend who he knew growing up. When their high school days ended, Billy and Jonathan were the only ones to stay, unlike their friends who motivated themselves far away, and lost contact with both them. Jonathan wanted Billy to start the book business with him, but Billy didn’t appear fascinated in that sort of thing. Billy was the ruff playing, bar hell rising stud, and a tarnished kind of person when he was out on the town, which was almost an every night episode. That is Billy, a short and unshaven boy with an attitude of his partying experience.

“Not much, just working on my web site. You’re doing well, I see? ”

“I am fine as usual. Just stopped by to see if you’d like to take a trip to the pub?”

“I can’t to night my friend. Hate to turn you down, but I have a little work to do still, and of course tomorrows another work day; however, if your up to it, I’ll go tomorrow night?” Jonathan said, looking a little disappointed, he couldn’t go then.

“That sounds good to me; I’ll pick you up tomorrow night.”

“Cool!” Jonathan said as his best friend left, and that was that … Jonathan went about what he’d said he would do, Billy went to the bar to raise hell, and into the bed Jonathan went.
