This choice: The Gambling city. She still might be there | Go Back

Chapter 49: The Gambling city. She still might be there   (ID #870294)
an addition by: Walson  More by this author

"Alexis should probably be at the Assasin's Guild" Carmine wondered out loud, "at least that's where I would expect her to go."

"I would agree, but remember we have a big price tag on our heads, and walking into an assasin's guild is like two juicy steaks walking into a pen of starved wolves" Carmine pointed out, "besides, we 'know' that Alexis was at the city we were last at so we can at least pick up her trail from there."

"Ah, yes, I knew that" Carmine said looking away, "I mean, I was just testing you, and your as smart as I thought."

"Hah, right" Rick said with a smile as they continued walking. Though, for Carmine's taste, they were going way to slow.

Carmine snarled as he asked Rick, "can you please pick up the pace, it's going to take at least a week to get there if you don't speed up."

Rick only chuckled saying, "don't worry, we will be going your pace really soon, just need to retreive 'The Old Maid' and I promise a day's worth of travel tops." Carmine doubted that but after walking a little while longer Rick retreated to the woods to retreve something that the cheetah only saw in books. It was an old dark green motorcycle with a side car and on the tank it's name 'The Old Maid' was painted. Rick seemed to kick the machine before it began to putter and growl.

"Where the hell did you get that machine" Carmine asked before catching himself and quickly replying in unisine with Rick, "won it in a poker game."

"And the thing is, the smell is so different that not only does it cover up my scent to an extent but they think it's not me from the tracks" Rick replied with a smile, "though your foxy friend was able to follow me anyway." The motorcycle kicked up and began to run off, leaving Carmine to catch up.
