Chapter 3: The Game of Change   (ID #779980)

Kris walked around the Excalibur Toy and Game shop, looking for something interesting. Out of the corner of his eye, Kris noticed an orange, rectangular box. "The Game of Change" was printed on the lid, and nothing else. Grabbing the box, Kris went over to the counter to ask Merlin what it was. "Ah, I see the spirits have guided you well." Melon said. "That, young ward, is The Game of Change. Now, I can't tell you what it will do, but I will assure you, you will not be displeased."

"Wait, why can't you tell me what this this is?" Kris asked

"It's the first rule of talking about magical artifacts." Merlin explained. "Do not talk about magical artifacts. Now I can't say any more. I think the spirits are on to me." Merlin handed the box to Kris. "Now get out of here. You never know what could happen." Utterly confused, Kris left the shop with a gift in hand. Shrugging, Kris left the mall with what he thought was a painted over Monopoly box. Still, it was one last thing he had to worry about. Kris got into the parking lot, and dialed the number of Mandy's best friend, Kaitlyn.

"Hey, what's up?" Kaitlyn asked after picking up on the third ring.

"Hey Kait, I'm heading over to Mandy's with her gift. Do you want to come with me?"

"Meh, I've got nothing better to do." Kaitlyn said, "What did you get her?"

"I got her this really weird board game that I think she'll like." Kris said.

"Always one to throw away conventional thinking, aren't you?" Kaitlyn asked. "Oh well, I'll be there. Just give me some time to get changed, and I'll meet you over there." Kris hung up, and pulled out of the Mall Parking Lot. Soon he was back on the highway, and at Mandy's house. knocking on the door, his girlfriend Mandy greeted him. "Hey, what are you doing here?" she asked

"What, I can't show up unannounced to my girlfriend's house on her birthday?" Kris said, handing her the wrapped version of her gift.

"Ooh! Can I open it now?" she pleaded, not waiting for his answer. Mandy started to tear into the wrapping paper, and pulled out the game. "The Game of Change? Sounds fun!"

YES! She likes it! Kris thought to herself. "Well, yeah. I thought that something we could do together would be a good idea."

"Well, let's go up to my room and we can set it up! Hmm, best results with most players." Mandy said, reading from the box. "Jenni! Wanna play a game?" A second later, Mandy's younger sister, Jennifer, bounced into the room. And by bounced, I mean it. Jenni, as her friends and family called her, was blessed by puberty. Her breasts were in the small D range, two cup sizes larger than her college sister. Jenni was also the girly girl in the family, concerned more with makeup and cheer leading and those things. "What's going on?" she asked.

"We're playing a board game. Wanna play?" Mandy asked.

"Sure!" she said, sitting down. "Anyone else coming?"

"I called Kaitlyn before I came over, so she should be here any second." Kris said.

"You don't know how right you are." Kaitlyn said, coming into the room.

"How do you do that?" Kris asked

"I have my ways." she winked, sitting down. "So, The Game of Change, huh?" Sounds like fun.

Kris set up the game board, that reminded him of one of the classics, like "Shootes and Ladders", or "Candyland". A long, winding path where each square said something on it, and it lead to an "End space." Once Kris set up the cards, 4 game pieces automatically appeared on the board. "How'd you do that?" Mandy asked.

"I don't know..." Kris said. He picked up the dice, and rolled a Seven. Moving his piece, Kris drew a card that read...
