He didn't really know what he was looking for, but figured he would find something Mandy would like if he just kept looking. Kris stopped when something caught his eye. A small, blue handheld device with a screen, and two red arrows going around in a circle. "Switcheroo" was written on it in big red letters. Picking up the little piece of electroncs, Kris noticed there were instructions printed on the back.
"Switcheroo! Now with neuro-link technology!"
Directions:
Point the optic lens of the Switcheroo at the two people you want to swap. Next, select your swap from a variety of categories. Finally, press the "Switcheroo!" button, and have fun!"
Kris flipped the Switcheroo over again. Looking at the screen, he noticed that there were not only several physical swaps he could make, such as body parts, gender, and overall appearance, along with mental switches like mind swap, fears, and personalities. Kris took the device over to the counter and shrugged. "What the heck. If nothing else, it would make a nice paperweight," he mused, trying rather pathetically to rationalize the risk of her purchase for Mandy's birthday present.
He brought it up to the counter and placed it there. The old man who was manning the register looked down at it and back up to Kris. He smiled a crooked smile. "Will that be all for you today, young lad?" he asked, sounding quite happy about doing his job.
"Yes," he affirmed simply.
"Very well then," he said, pushing some buttons on the register, never losing his lop-sided grin. "Would you like a bag for that?"
The boy shook her head. "No...that's alright."
"Well then, I hope you enjoy your purchase and have a wonderful day," he said pleasantly.
"Err...thanks. You too," he offered, trying not to show how off-putting she found his all-too-eager smile.
Kris left the store, feeling severly creeped out. He looked at the Switcheroo again. "Well, I guess the only thing left to do is see if it works..." Kris said. Where will this story go next? Your choices are below...
