ShrinkRPG #1: The New, New World

A negative look into the future. Climate change has transformed the western world into an arctic wasteland, leaving billions of homeless refugees forced to travel east to Asia and Oceania. Unfortunately for them, Russia and China, the two biggest superpowers remaining, are already united under one single autocratic leadership with dystopian views and ideas; as soon as they hear the news of westerners travelling through their borders, they close the borders completely and ignore the people's pleas. All other countries follow, citing massive overpopulation.

With 30,000,000 still wandering aimlessly around the continent, China tells all other nations that it will sort out the problem by itself. Days pass by as one-by-one, each lost westerner is snatched from their settlements and taken to Chinese slave labor camps to be trained into slavery for the people. But then Russia reminds China of their secret weapon, developed long ago when a third world war seemed almost certain (and before the harsh events described above took place).

It was a shrink grenade, by concept. The attacker would toss the grenade into a packed area, the grenade would explode, and all those who breathed in the gas would, first, be knocked out by the formula's initial effects, then as they laid dormant, the formula would react with their insides, causing the victim to shrink to an undeterminable size (though hopefully a size easily crushed under a human foot). This product took decades to develop but only in 2046 did they reach the breakthrough they'd been looking for.

Behind closed doors, the two socialist republics planned their cleansing mission in full. Tens of thousands of female soldiers (female soldiers being the most innocent and unassuming), dressed in casual attire without the hammer-and-sickle uniform commonly worn by all Russo-Chinese soldiers, would be deployed across all parts of the world not laid to waste by global warming. Strict orders would be sent out to kill all western men, women and children they see, using all they're equipped with; every soldier will be armed with 10 shrink grenades as well as the standard Russian and Chinese weaponry.

The story kicks off from here. You are Chris, a young man whose leadership instincts placed him in full responsibility of a circle of people, all of varying ages and ethnicities. Temporarily dwelling in a forest just outside the Chinese nation, you and your followers must cope with the lingering threat of death. Nobody knows about the deployment of troops to kill them, nor do they know about the shrink grenades. Nevertheless, you are their make-shift 'leader', and you must put your own life ahead of theirs.
