You are a teenage boy living with your family in a small town in Virginia. You one day come across a strange black apple growing on a palm tree, which you immediately pick. But this apple is not what it seems...
Rules

The apple's primary function is to bring misfortune to whoever keeps it. This story's primary function is to follow the apple, no matter whether it changes hands.
The apple is NOT capable of being destroyed or killing anyone. If a bite is taken from it, the apple simply regenerates, and nothing unusual happens to the person who bit it.
Love and dating is allowed, but the Black Apple had better have an effect on it's outcome.
I WILL reward contributors who use good grammar and spelling.
