This choice: Cille brings him home | Go Back

Chapter 9: Cille brings him home   (ID #950600)

Cille used her green pendant once again.

"Where do you want to go?"

Neil very briefly thought it over.

"Exactly where I was when I left."

Cille looked straight into his eyes.

"You are sure that this is the best time and place to go?"

Neil nodded firmly. He knew that he probably would not be able to see anyone, but it would give him some time to himself, just to feel more comfortable. Cille reached for her necklace. The pendant once again began to radiated its light, and suddenly the room was left empty. When the light receded, Neil saw nothing but perfect darkness.

"Cille?"

He felt a hand on his own.

"You are home."

Neil's sight adjusted. He was merely standing in the dark while his eyes were used to light. Soon, the bench where his adventure started came into view. A smile grew on the recently crowned princess's face. Neil turned and saw the paved path, the tame grass, and the pathway squeezed between the grey stony buildings. He truly was home.

Upon this realization, Neil began to sprint down the path in the same direction that he had been traveling earlier, but he did not keep his momentum. His legs slowed, and the hair flowing behind him fell back onto his neck and shoulders. He was not himself, and that meant he could not truly go home. His family would not accept him, at least not under the current circumstances.

"Maybe I could try to bump into them tomorrow during the day."

Neil felt something cradle him, and them turn him around. Cille shared the same sad look on his face.

"Not now. You will see them, but now. First, let's find a place to stay."
