Every step he took was accompanied by a loud plip or plop, and his sneakers seemed to be acting more like sponges than shoes. The weather was only the tip of the ice berg though. The day had gone sour much earlier. Before classes even began, he had been informed by one of his teachers that he had failed a major test and may have to repeat the class. Explaining that to the folks would not be easy, especially since Daniel had been hiding his grades.
Later in the day, he ended up losing his phone. It just seemed to disappear, that was what really got to him. Daniel knew he had in his backpack's bottom compartment, he had even taken it out briefly in the morning. But when he went to check his phone in the afternoon, it was gone. And when he finally made it out of school, he found himself in the heavy rain, without so much as a hood to pull up over his head. He had left his jacket at home.
Without a word, he marched through the storm, his head down to avoid eye contact with anyone. The wind was picking up, throwing the cold rain drops right into his face. He was so mad that he was almost about to lose it. Then he heard a ringing sound. Daniel looked up and saw the door to a little store open. A man in a trench coat walked out and the wind slammed the door behind him. The store was a little shop, selling things like magazines, candies, cheap toys, and more. Daniel stopped in front of the shop, and thought for a short time.
The bell on top of the door rang again and a new customer walked in. Where will this story go next? Your choices are below...
