Before you get the chance to speak, the genie trots past you dismissively and stares around the room, humming thoughtfully as she gives it a meticulous appraisal.
It's another minute when you try to interrupt with a suave "Um..." that she turns back to you and judges: "It's a bit plain, isn't it? Where's the satin? The voile curtains?" You stare at her for a moment nonplussed as she continues, enthused: "Let me remake this room! I could make it so much better."
Subconciously raising an eyebrow because you like your bedroom the way it is, you reply "I don't think that's such a good idea. Besides, don't you think my parents would notice?"
The school-outfit clad girl pouts in frustration, glancing around the disapproving room before focusing on the floor. "This rug doesn't even have any tassles... if I'm going to be staying here, at least let me change that."
"I'll think about it." you respond, before changing tact. "But you've just given me a thought. You are going to be here a lot, so Mom will definitely start asking questions to catch you out. I'll hide you for the weekend, then on Monday you're coming to school so you can find out how to answer her."
The genie blinks, you guess because she hasn't yet decided how she feels about that. Not giving her time to process the thought for now, you turn and sit at the foot of your bed before stating "As for tonight, here's what I want you to do..."
