Chapter 7: That Bill lose all memory of the Grellstone and...   (ID #978804)

"I wish that Bill would completely forget about the stone and its powers!"

Bill ran up to Kimberly and jumped for the stone, but only barely managed to get above her waist.

"No! Give me the stone, give it to me!"

The stone once again let out a burst of green rays that filled the room. When the light receded, Bill was still jumping for the stone in Kimbery's hands.

"Kimmy! Give me... give me..."

The little girl stopped jumping and stood in place in front of her older sister. She looked terribly confused.

"What's the matter lil' sister? If you just stand around, you'll be late for school."

The little girl looked around the room for a few seconds before looking up at Kimberly.

"Kimmy, where is my backpack?"

Kimberly smiled devilishly.

"It's right there behind you."

She stepped around her little sister and picked up the backpack she had brought over earlier, which was now small and pink. As Kimberly handed the pink bag over to Bill, he hesitantly grabbed it, as if he couldn't decide if it was his or not. He was interrupted when Kimberly grabbed his arm.

"We can't sit around any more, it's time to drop you off."

The walk to school was only a couple of minutes since it was very near their home. Kimberly seemed unusually excited about the whole thing. In fact, the expressions on the two girls' faces were pretty much the opposite of what any bystander would expect. The older sister was happily skipping along to preschool, while the little sister looked confused and slightly upset, as if she had to take time out of her day to walk someone else to school.

"Make sure you don't catch any boy cooties!"

Kimberly went off laughing, leaving Bill surrounded by other preschoolers. In her excitement, she didn't notice how sloppy she had been with her wishes. Now that Bill was alone, he was able to think about why everything felt so strange. As far back as he could remember, he had always been a girl, and the little sister in his family, but he also 'knew' things. He knew things that a preschool girl probably wouldn't know. He could remember classes much more advanced that preschool, and playing sports with older boys, and having Kimberly as a little sister. As it turned out, Kimberly's wish did exactly what she demanded. It removed the Grellstone from Bill's memory, but only the Grellstone.

"Kimmy did something. But I don't know what."

Bill traced his finger around the smiling kitten on his shirt as he thought. Just then a teacher came out into the yard and rang a small bell.

"Alright everyone, time to go inside."

Bill snapped out of his intense thought.

"Oh, I have to go to class!"
