You didn't think that you'd be able to trust Sarah's friends with your safety, so as soon as the door to the bedroom opened, you dove under the bedsheets and peeped out.

Besides Sarah, two girls came in. One was Hispanic and had long black hair. She wore sneakers. You recognized her as your own 17-year-old sister Clara. The other one was African American and had curly black hair. She wore knee-high boots, and looked to be about 15. You didn't recognize her.

"So what's this thing you wanted to show us?" the black girl asked.
"In a second Rachel," Sarah replied. "It's pretty special."
